NOTES: This beautifully hand engraved skeletonized ultra-thin Audemars Piguet with integrated bracelet is striking for many reasons besides that this reference 14233BA (according to AP Boutique Geneva) delivered in 1989 is so rare, we have never seen another one. Firstly, it is a fully skeletonized ultra-thin caliber 2120M automatic, while other skeletonized movements like this are typically manual wind. In addition, this particular watch is slightly larger than its counterpart (14232BA) due to the unique 'cord' decoration added on the case side. It does not have a ring with Roman numerals like others, but rather a hand engraved ring around the movement. The similar reference 14232BA (on strap) has only appeared a few times on the market at auction or with dealers. If this watch were to be offered in the catalog today, the amount of rare artisan craftsmanship involved would put the retail price around 100K.
