In order to promote its watchmaking heritage as a brand, Cartier decided to produce limited quantities of fine watches dubbed Collection Privé Cartier Paris and often simply called CPCP between 1998-2008. With a. series of high end movement collaborations, they did just that. Following this 10 year period, Cartier regained its image as a premier watchmaker, not just for being a jeweller, a position they have kept till today. These collections have become highly collectible today, especially the platinum versions as they were the most limited.
