NOTES: The name "Baignoire" is French for bathtub and comes from the resemblance of the watch's oval shape. This unique design, originating in 1912, was actually launched in 1957 and became a fixture for the brand. In the late 1960's, Cartier London introduced a much larger version called the London Oval Maxi and paved the way for the Cartier Paris Baignoire Allongée from the 1970's.
The present model is reminiscent of both the Allongée and Maxi Oval due to its elongated oval silhouette and large size. It is part of a limited edition of 400 pieces launched in 1991, much like the Cartier Crash from the same year, and this one is numbered 80. It features a two-body case in 18k yellow gold, maintaining its original proportions, and a guilloché cream dial with black Roman numerals, the secret Cartier signature at Roman numeral (7), and blued steel sword hands—classic Cartier design.
