NOTES:
After decades of decline, Breguet was purchased by the Chaumet brothers in 1970. The company shifted toward ultra-high-end classical watchmaking and eventually moved much of its production to Switzerland’s Vallée de Joux.
During this revival period, legendary independent watchmaker Daniel Roth was brought in to redefine the aesthetic of the brand. Roth essentially created the visual DNA of the modern Classique collection:
Coin-edge fluted casebands
Welded straight lugs
Hand-guilloché silver dials
Blued “pomme” hands
Secret Breguet signatures
Thin, elegant proportions
Those design elements became the foundation for watches like the 3300. Many collectors today refer to these early revival-era pieces as “Daniel Roth Breguets.”.
