Omega Speedmaster 105.012-63 Grey Dial 1965
OMEGA Speedmaster 105.012-63, Rare 'No T'' Grey Metallic Dial, Delivered to Switzerland, 1965
Serial: 20526337
Circa: 1965
Reference No.: 105.012-63
CASE: 42mm, stainless steel, steel with black DO90 tachymeter bezel
DIAL: 'Pewter Grey' metallic glossy dial, tritium hour markers, swiss made only (early version without T)
MOVEMENT: Calibre 321, hand-wound column wheel chronograph, 17 jewels
BRACELET: Stainless steel 1506/16 bracelet, dated 1.65
CONDITION REPORT: The overall condition is excellent. The case and bracelet are unpolished. The bezel has beautifully faded over time to a navy blue color. The dial surface is in excellent condition, without the typical blemishes/discoloration found on these early examples, and retains its original luminous material, which has darkened over time. Overall, one of the nicest examples of this rare dial we have ever seen. Most have not aged well and often have discoloration or other damage.
Notes: According to the Omega Museum the present watch was manufactured in 1965 and delivered to Switzerland. Archives extract comes with confirmation of the grey dial as well. This glossy dial is the earliest professional exection with swiss made without T at the bottom. The reference 105.012-63 black dials in their early execution had the same swiss made only. We have rarely seen this kind of Grey dial with swiss only and this is only the second time we have observed one.
