Omega Speedmaster 105.012-65 Tropical 1967
OMEGA Speedmaster 105.012-65 Tropical Dial, Blue Bezel, 1967
Serial: 24011544
Circa: 1967
Reference No.: 105.012-65
CASE: 42mm, stainless steel, steel with black tachymeter bezel, Seahorse and Speedmaster engraved on the case back
DIAL: Brown 'tropical' matte dial with applied logo, tritium hour markers
MOVEMENT: Calibre 321, hand-wound column wheel chronograph, 17 jewels
BRACELET: Stainless steel Omega bracelet Ref. 1506/16 dated 1.64
CONDITION REPORT: The chocolate brown tropical dial is in excellent condition and retains its original tritium indexes with a nice cream patina along with the hands. The dial is the 'high swiss' correct configuration for a 105.012 reference. The DO90 bezel has faded over time to a rich blue color. The case appears to be only slightly polished but the double bevel caseback, seahorse logo and lug edges are still clearly visible.
Notes: According to the Omega Museum, the present watch was delivered to Switzerland in February 1967.
In the early 'professional' series of Speedmaster with lyre lugs the reference 105.012 was used in case production from 1963 to 1966.
