NOTES: The Orvis 2446 SF, also known as the Heuer Orvis Solunagraph, was produced in the early 1970s through a collaboration between Swiss watchmaker Heuer and American outdoor outfitter Orvis. Heuer had already experimented with tide-indicating chronographs under names like “Mareographe” and “Seafarer” — began supplying a special version for Orvis, tailored to anglers, hunters and outdoorsmen. Based on Heuer’s Autavia 2446 C model, it featured the Valjoux 721/723 movement with an added tide-indicator module designed for fishermen and outdoorsmen. The 40 mm stainless-steel chronograph had a rotating bezel and a dial marked “Orvis,” while the movement and case were signed “Heuer.” Due to its limited production and specialized design, the Orvis 2446 SF is considered a rare and collectible vintage sports watch today.
